Shantae Lucas, MD

Dr. Lucas moved to Western North Carolina and joined the staff of Cancer Care of WNC, PA in 1998.  She brings a calm, professional approach to patient care.  Her attention to detail in her daily operations serves as an example for staff and colleagues.

Dr. Lucas received her doctorate degree from the University Of Kentucky College Of Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky.  She completed her residency in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the same institution.  She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.


Memberships:  American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO); American Society of Hematology (ASH).

Positions:  Director of Medical Oncology, Brevard Cancer Center; Quality Committee, Mission Hospital; Director of Quality CCWNC.

Sub-Specialty:  Dr. Lucas has a special interest in head and neck malignancies, CNS malignancies (brain tumors), and breast cancer.  She is available to see patients in Asheville and Brevard.
