Hiromi Terawaki, MD

Dr. Hiromi Terawaki will join Cancer Care of Western North Carolina in August 2017.

She graduated from Duke University with a biomedical and electrical engineering degree. She earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina as a presidential scholar; followed by her internal medicine residency at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. She chose to return to the South for her hematology and medical oncology fellowship training at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. There, she received funding as an NIH T32 grant recipient. Dr. Terawaki is board certified in Internal Medicine, and board eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Outside of work, Dr. Terawaki enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, running, and gardening.

Memberships: American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). American Society of Hematology (ASH), and European Society of Medical Oncology. (ESMO)

Sub-Specialty: Dr. Terawaki has a special interest in lymphoma, gastrointestinal malignancies as well as health services research. Dr. Terawaki will provide care for patients in the Asheville and Sylva clinics.
