Christopher Chay, MD

Dr. Christopher Chay joined Cancer Care of WNC in August 2002.  He brings a special interest in research and advanced medical technology to the practice.  He is regarded for his modern approach that utilizes the most successful treatment models for his patients. He is diligent in providing research updates and support for staff and colleagues.  He is efficient in his daily schedule and enjoys training staff and students.

Dr. Chay is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He attended medical school and completed his residency at the University Of North Carolina School Of Medicine.  He chose the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, for his hematology/oncology Fellowship. Dr. Chay is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Dr. Chay’ and his wife have two children, and he enjoys every moment of being a great dad. In his spare time, Dr. Chay enjoys running and cooking.

Memberships:  American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).

Sub-Specialty:  Dr. Chay has a special interest in malignancies of the genitourinary system (bladder, ureter, kidney, testicular, prostate) and lung cancer.  Dr. Chay provides care for patients in Asheville, Sylva, and Franklin clinics.
